SOLIDWORKS COLLECTION
My education at Rochester Institute of Technology included extensive CAD modeling practice woven into the coursework. Models shown here are first created from scratch in SolidWorks and then rendered in KeyShot.
My final university project involved designing and constructing a traditional vintage lantern. I created a small-scale version of the design using 3D printing and collaborated with the RIT Glass Department within the School for American Crafts to fabricate the lantern’s core. Modeling the lantern in SolidWorks proved particularly challenging due to its soft, cylindrical form. Achieving the final design required several iterations, which became an early and valuable lesson in the importance of experimentation.
