TEA TABLE

This was my first piece of large-scale furniture and it was a joy to both design and physically build it. This table was actualized in a Woodworking class at Rochester Institute of Technology. My design was first driven by function of the simple act of drinking tea. The refined design is inspired by a combination of clean and honest Scandinavian design, paired with harmonious Japanese details.

The most challenging aspect of this project was combining two contrasting wood types within the tabletop. Through this process, I learned the importance of precision in joinery. I’m happy to report that the table is still standing strong after 10 years!
